Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Aurora, CO is seeking a DevOps or Principal DevOps Engineer to join our agile team. You will drive automated CI/CD pipelines, define deployment standards, and collaborate across software, systems, and security disciplines.

The role requires a TS clearance with SCI access, Kubernetes experience using Helm charts, and strong Linux skills, delivering scalable, reliable infrastructure for mission-critical programs.

Qualifications

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for a DevOps or Principal DevOps Engineer to augment our team. This position is based in Aurora, CO

Primary Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning and evolving processes and infrastructure to execute programs supporting rapid capability maturation and deployment.
• Integrates development pipelines leveraging automation with test-driven development tools and continuous integration/test frameworks.
• Define and implement the build, deployment, provisioning, and monitoring standards for the program.
• Ensures implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage with automated testing for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Work as part of an Agile development team to deliver end-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management framework.
• Build and configure delivery environments supporting CD/CI tools using an Agile delivery methodology.
• Create scripts and/or templates to automate infrastructure provisioning and management tasks.
• Work closely with development teams to create an automated continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) system.
• Work together with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
• Monitor and support all installed systems and infrastructure.
• Develop custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
• Contribute to the design of information and operational support systems.
• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Oversee the company’s security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Evaluate application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, develop solutions, and implement them with the help of developers.

Basic Qualifications

• United States Citizenship is required to be considered.
• Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
• Must have an active U.S. Government CI Polygraph at time of application, current and within scope.
• Level 2: Bachelor’s degree with 2 + years of relevant experience; 0 years with a Master's
• Level 3: Bachelor’s degree with 5 + years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Master's
• Experience with integration and testing of software
• Experience deploying services in a Kubernetes environment using Helm Charts
• Ability to troubleshoot and fix deployments and then update charts to ensure future success
• Strong Linux skills
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between system expertise and tier 1 support

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying one of the following: Kafka, Nifi, or Confluent
• Experience working as Tier 3 support for an operational system

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $137,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
