Job summary

Sofbang, a Chicago-based IT solutions provider, seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer with 10+ years of experience to shape DevOps practices and lead cloud migration efforts.

You will architect scalable, fault-tolerant IaaS in AWS, drive automation, and guide cross-functional teams across the software lifecycle. This role blends full-stack development with robust operational discipline.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of DevOps experience required.
• Strong cloud experience (AWS) and automation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Define DevOps Best Practices by Conducting DevOps Assessment, Adaptation and Transformation, Developing DevOps Roadmap, DevOps Tool Selection, Establishing DevOps culture (Change management).
• Strategy & roadmap development, ownership & execution for migration of legacy applications to the cloud(AWS).
• Building reliable, repeatable, fault tolerant & auto-scaling infrastructure (IaaS) in the cloud(AWS).
• Full stack development Experience
• Technical Landscape: Scripting and/or Languages: Python, Ruby, C#, Java, Bash
• Source Code Management (SCM): GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, SubVersion
• Configuration Management Tools: Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform
• Operating System: Linux, Windows, Unix, Solaris
• ITIL Process Management: Incident, Problem, Release & Change Management, and Project Management
• Develop and continuous evolve the Managed Services business & offers to support offerings from key vendors including Oracle, AWS & Azure.
• Work with the sales team, formulating and executing AWS adoption sales strategy
• Establish and cultivate the DevOps culture internally within the development team.
• Support large, integrated Managed Service, Cloud and as-a-service opportunities from proposal through operations.
• Define delivery process and tools aligned to ITIL™ & DevOps industry best practices; leverage automation & orchestration to optimize delivery practices and costs.
