Job Summary

The DevOps / Platform Engineer designs, automates, and operates the infrastructure that engineering teams to build, test, and ship software. This role owns the tools and pipelines that move code from commit to production, brings GitOps and infrastructure-as-code practices to the organization's OpenStack and cloud environments, and ensures the platform remains reliable, secure, and observable as the company scales. The position sits at the intersection of infrastructure, security, and developer experience, and works closely with development teams to reduce friction in their workflows while keeping systems compliant and resilient.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning end-to-end using Terraform, Ansible, and OpenStack, reducing manual setup and configuration drift across environments.

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (ADO), including artifact builds and publishing to JFrog Artifactory, to keep releases fast and predictable.

  • Drive GitOps-based deployment practices using ArgoCD, Argo Workflows, AWX, and TerraKube so infrastructure changes are versioned, auditable, and repeatable.

  • Integrate and maintain Terraform Enterprise to bring governance, policy enforcement, and compliance controls into infrastructure provisioning.

  • Partner with engineering teams to shape container orchestration strategy across Kubernetes and OpenStack, balancing performance, cost, and reliability.

  • Build and maintain observability across the platform — metrics, dashboards, logs, and traces — using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch, so issues surface before they affect users.

  • Work with development teams to embed security and compliance requirements directly into deployment pipelines rather than adding them after the fact.

  • Own system reliability, scalability, and performance, including troubleshooting production issues and driving continuous improvement.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience running production workloads on Kubernetes, including Helm, StatefulSets, RBAC, and Istio.

  • Solid background in Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform and Ansible.

  • Practical, hands-on experience with OpenStack.

  • Strong scripting ability in Python and Bash for automation and tooling.

  • Familiarity with at least one public cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate directly with development teams to solve problems, rather than working solely through ticket hand-offs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD, TerraKube, AWX, Terraform Enterprise, or Flux.

  • Experience building and maintaining an observability stack, including Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and ELK/OpenSearch.

  • Experience setting up monitoring and alerting with tools such as AppInsights, FluentBit, or Loki.
