Cherokee Federal is seeking an Application Developer / Systems Engineer to design, implement, and operate infrastructure automation across Linux and Windows. The role emphasizes Puppet-based configuration management, container tech (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD practices to deliver reliable, scalable applications.

Responsibilities include building automation modules, supporting deployment orchestration, and guiding teams on best practices for infrastructure as code and container deployment.

Qualifications

• Puppet Certified Professional certification is required.
• Familiarity with container software such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with JavaScript, Java, Python, or .NET.
• Experience with GitHub or Git version control systems.
• Experience with Linux and Windows infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD methodologies and practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy software that configures and manages client hosting environments (Linux/Windows).
• Define infrastructure services architecture and automation modules for infrastructure management.
• Support deployment orchestration for business applications and services.
• Configure app servers, load balancers, VPCs, networks, and subnets.
• Design and maintain automated test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for Puppet and code.
• Troubleshoot container services and applications; assist in deployment to container environments.
