This DevOps Engineer role focuses on reliable platforms, cloud and on-prem deployments, and scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional DevOps or infrastructure-focused experience.
• Strong hands-on AWS and Linux on AWS capabilities.
• Proven IaC and automation experience with Terraform and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Ensure platform reliability through high-availability setups and DR planning.
• Deploy and maintain services in cloud and on-prem environments.
• Operate containerized workloads on Kubernetes; Helm and Argo CD GitOps.
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible.
• Manage PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS with backups, tuning, and upgrades.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD.
• Implement IAM/SSO with Keycloak (OIDC/SAML).
• Monitor with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry; alerting setup.
• Provide 3rd level support and incident management; root cause analysis.
• Support cloud migration projects and patch/upgrade management.
• Develop Python and shell scripts for automation; contribute to Backstage.

Scope of Duties

• Ensure platform reliability through high-availability setups, backup/restore procedures, and disaster recovery planning
• Deploy and maintain services in cloud and on-premises environments
• Operate and maintain containerized workloads on Kubernetes, including Helm-based deployments and GitOps workflows using Argo CD
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Ansible
• Autonomously implement complete technical solutions and infrastructure components from scratch
• Operate and maintain PostgreSQL databases on Amazon RDS, including backup, tuning, and version upgrades
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, following established patterns and including automated quality gates and testing
• Implement and maintain identity and access management, including SSO integrations via Keycloak (OIDC/SAML)
• Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry
• Provide 3rd level support and participate in incident management, including root cause analysis and resolution
• Support cloud migration projects, including cutover planning and execution
• Perform patch and upgrade management of infrastructure and services
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and infrastructure-related issues
• Develop Python and shell scripts to automate operational and infrastructure-related tasks
• Contribute to internal developer platform capabilities, including service catalogs and developer portals (Backstage)
• Contribute to technical documentation, including system architecture and IT product documentation, following docs-as-code principles

Experience

• Experience 3+ years of professional experience in a DevOps Engineer or similar infrastructure-focused role
• Strong experience with platform operations, including high availability, backup/restore, and disaster recovery
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS core services and Linux on AWS, preferably Amazon Linux
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Practical experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized environments
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including Helm and GitOps-based deployment workflows (Argo CD)
• Practical experience operating PostgreSQL, preferably on Amazon RDS
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD and pipeline implementation following established patterns
• Solid Git experience, including branching strategies and repository migrations
• Practical experience with artifact management (Artifactory, Nexus)
• Experience with IAM and SSO concepts, including Keycloak and OIDC/SAML integrations
• Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry for monitoring and observability
• Experience with incident management and 3rd level support processes
• Experience with cloud migration and cutover activities
• Experience with patch and upgrade management of infrastructure and services
• Experience with Python and shell scripting for automation and operational tasks
• Familiarity with code quality practices and automated testing
• Familiarity with platform engineering concepts and developer portals (Backstage)
• Basic knowledge of TypeScript and frontend development (e.g. for Backstage plugin customization)
