Job Overview
Northrop Grumman seeks a talented, self-motivated, energetic professional to join the engineering team in Boulder, Colorado as a Principal DevOps Engineer. This position is located in Boulder, CO.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development teams to implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Coordinate activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams, raise issues at the program level, and drive complex projects to success.
- Analyze system capabilities for output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.
- Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems.
- Effectively communicate and present technical subjects to project and program management, other technical managers, and customers.
- Manage technical dependencies across teams.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience, or a master's degree and 3 years related experience, or 1 year of related experience with a PhD.
- An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Applicants must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at the time of application and at start.
- Experience with modern C++ (C++17, C++20), development tools, IDEs and compilers.
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming.
- Experience developing in Linux environments.
- Experience developing in cross-platform (Linux/Windows) environments.
- Experience with modular software development architectures and practices with source control tools (Git, CMake, Conan, etc.).
- Experience working with Atlassian suite products (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.).
- Familiarity with revision control, documentation, planning, and review systems like Git.
- Software development and troubleshooting in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA Security+ (SecPlus) certification.
- Current and active DoD-issued TS/SCI clearance at application time.
- Technical leadership experience.
- Experience with Python.
- Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors.
- Experience with Distributed Systems and Micro-service Architecture & Observability Tools (Grafana, OpenTelemetry, RKE2/K3S/Tanzu/Docker Swarm).
- Experience with DevOps and DevSecOps (Jenkins or Git Lab).
- Experience with container orchestration and deployment (Kubernetes, Docker Compose, Openshift, Rancher).
- Experience with containerization development (Podman or Docker).
- Experience with Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code (Ansible).

- Salary range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00.
