Job summary

YottaEnergy is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer III to own and optimize the software delivery lifecycle from code commit through production deployment. This role maintains CI/CD pipelines, manages releases, and ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud-connected platforms.

You will collaborate with software, firmware, and support teams to build automated, observable deployment environments that support distributed solar and energy storage technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Cloud Operations, or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI/CD, or similar.
  • Experience deploying cloud-native apps on AWS with Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, etc.
  • Experience with Terraform or equivalent IaC and Ansible for config management.
  • Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting and strong observability/monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines from development through production deployment.
  • Manage software releases, including branching strategies, build promotion, deployment, and rollback procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain production applications, cloud infrastructure, and supporting services.
  • Configure and maintain observability platforms with logging, metrics, monitoring, and alerts.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, performance bottlenecks, and reliability issues.
  • Develop IaC using Terraform and AWS CDK; collaborate on deploys with software teams.
  • Support integration of cloud services, IoT devices, and embedded systems into workflows.

Position Summary

Yotta Energy is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer III to own and optimize the software delivery lifecycle from code commit through production deployment. This role is responsible for maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing release processes, monitoring production systems, and ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud-connected platforms.

You will collaborate closely with software, firmware, and support teams to build highly automated, observable, and resilient deployment environments that support distributed solar and energy storage technologies. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on cloud infrastructure, release engineering, automation, and operational excellence

Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines from development through production deployment
  • Manage software releases, including branching strategies, build promotion, deployment, and rollback procedures
  • Monitor and maintain production applications, cloud infrastructure, and supporting services
  • Configure and maintain observability platforms, including logging, metrics, monitoring, and alerting
  • Troubleshoot production incidents, performance bottlenecks, and system reliability issues
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar tools
  • Collaborate with software engineers to ensure applications are deployable, testable, and production ready
  • Support the integration of cloud services, IoT devices, and embedded systems into deployment workflows
  • Maintain release documentation, operational runbooks, and incident response procedures
  • Implement best practices for security, scalability, reliability, and disaster recovery
  • Continuously improving deployment automation, release velocity, and system observability
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Operations, or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI/CD, or similar platforms
  • Experience deploying and supporting cloud-native applications in AWS or an equivalent cloud platform, with strong knowledge of Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, DynamoDB, EC2, RDS, S3, Route 53, load balancers, and IAM
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or equivalent
  • Experience with configuration management and fleet automation using Ansible or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, or another scripting language
  • Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Linux administration and package management
  • Experience with serverless frameworks, particularly SST
  • Experience with IoT or edge devices
  • Background in renewable energy, solar, energy storage, or industrial automation
  • Experience working in startup or high-growth technology environments
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
