Job summary

Ross Stores seeks an Engineer II to design, build, and support CI/CD platforms, automation frameworks, and developer tools for secure, reliable software delivery across Azure and on-premises environments.

You will work with CloudBees, GitHub, Terraform, Docker, and IaC practices, collaborating with development, infra, and security teams to raise automation, quality, and speed of delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technology roles.
• 3+ years hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services and hybrid environments.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and source control platforms including CloudBees/Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and repository management practices.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Experience administering and integrating DevOps tools such as SonarQube, Nexus Repository, Splunk, Dynatrace, Jira, and Confluence.
• Strong SDLC, DevOps principles, release management, CI/CD best practices, and modern software delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of Spring Boot, Angular, and cloud-native architectures.
• Certifications such as Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer, Terraform Associate, Kubernetes are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation across Azure and on-premises environments.
• Develop and support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and configuration management using Terraform and Ansible.
• Administer and enhance the enterprise DevOps toolchain (CloudBees, GitHub, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Nexus, Jira, Confluence, Splunk, Dynatrace).
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to standardize build, test, release, and deployment processes.
• Implement automated quality, security, and compliance controls within CI/CD pipelines.
• Support containerization and cloud-native deployment practices using Docker and cloud-native methodologies.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve CI/CD platform issues; perform root-cause analysis and preventive improvements.
• Evaluate and enable self-service platform capabilities to improve developer productivity and adoption of DevOps practices.
• Leverage AI-powered engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to enhance code quality and delivery.
