Job summary

BeVera Solutions, LLC is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support SciComp and bioinformatics environments. You will help with GitLab administration, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and workflow automation, enabling reliable, reproducible scientific work.

The role collaborates with bioinformatics, software, and infrastructure teams to improve security, automation, and deployment of scientific software in Linux/HPC settings. Contingent on contract award and funding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 2 years of relevant professional, internship, research, or technical experience in DevOps, software engineering, bioinformatics, scientific computing, HPC, or systems/infrastructure engineering.
• Experience using Git or GitLab for source/version control.

Responsibilities

• Support administration of internal GitLab environments, including repositories, access, and change-management.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines for scientific and custom-developed applications.
• Support automated build, testing, security scanning, packaging, and deployment processes.
• Develop automation scripts using languages such as Python, Java, Perl, Ruby, Bash.
• Build, deploy, and maintain containerized applications using Docker or Singularity/Apptainer.
• Assist with deployment and management of scientific and bioinformatics applications in Linux/HPC environments.
