Job summary

Leidos is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support a 200+ FTE ICAM program. The role focuses on delivering modern identity access credential management solutions, building robust systems in a cloud-enabled DevOps framework, and guiding major deliverables across the software lifecycle.

You will collaborate with senior engineers and program management, break down complex requirements, and drive automation using industry-standard tools.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
• BS degree and 12+ years of relevant experience; additional experience in lieu of degree allowed.
• Expertise in the software development lifecycle with DevOps tooling, CI/CD practices.
• Experience with software testing performance tools such as JMeter.
• Experience developing on Commercial Cloud Platforms (AWS, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Proficient in Git and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Participate in software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement.
• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug automation for development, test and production environments.
• Break down high level requirements into smaller tasks for implementation.
• Develop, prototype and deploy solutions on Commercial Cloud Platforms leveraging infrastructure services.
• Coordinate with Team Members, Product Owners and Scrum Masters for User Story alignment and implementation.

Leidos is looking for a DevOps Engineer on a 200+ FTE technical development program responsible for delivering modern Identity Access Credential Management (ICAM) solutions. As a DevOps Engineer on this program, you will have the opportunity to build strong systems and software utilizing cloud capabilities to support a complex program. Based in DevOps framework, you will participate in and/or direct major deliverables throughout all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing.

Leidos is looking for a DevOps Engineer on a 200+ FTE technical development program responsible for delivering modern Identity Access Credential Management (ICAM) solutions. As a DevOps Engineer on this program, you will have the opportunity to build strong systems and software utilizing cloud capabilities to support a complex program. Based in DevOps framework, you will participate in and/or direct major deliverables throughout all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing.

Primary Responsibilities

• Participate in software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement,
• Solving higher level and larger scope technical problems
• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug automation solutions for development, test and production environments.
• Ability to take high level requirements from senior engineers and program management and break the work down into smaller tasks for implementation.
• Makes process, program and automation recommendations to the project or program.
• Develop, prototype and deploy solutions within Commercial Cloud Solutions leveraging Infrastructure platform services
• Coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases
• Analyze (through proof of concept, performance, and end-to-end testing) and effectively coordinate Infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs
• Use industry leading DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Unix bash scripting
• Document and perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environments
• Communicate key project data to team members and build team cohesion and effectiveness.
• Leverage Atlassian tool suite like JIRA and Confluence to track activities and document procedures
• Apply and identify best practices and standard operating procedures
• Create innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customers.

Required Skills;

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Requires a BS degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience in lieu of degree.
• Expert in the software development lifecycle, with experience delivering within DevOps toolsets/practices and continuous integration / continuous development
• Direct experience utilizing software testing performance tools, such as J-Meter
• Experience with development in Commercial Cloud Platforms (ex, AWS, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud, Azure)
• Experience with development leveraging cloud data services (ex: AWS S3, OpenSearch, EFS, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Well versed with using version control systems such as git
• Well versed with using issue/problem tracking systems
• Proficient with common Agile practices and environment, service-orientated environments, and development practices
• Must be able to work independently to develop solutions to technical problems.
• Interested and eager to learn

Desired Skills

• Experience in programming with Java, JavaScript
• Experience with puppet, shell scripting, NESTJS, Swagger, NodeJS, ElasticSearch
• UX best practices and Human Centered Design.
• Experience in AWS Data management services
• Experience with the authentication, identity and access management
• AWS DevOps and/or SysOps certifications
• Hands on database experience with MySQL, RDS and Oracle
• Experience with containerization
