HII Mission Technologies, a division of HII, seeks a skilled Software Engineer for the U.S. Army GVSC in Warren, MI. The role focuses on DevSecOps, building and securing GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and guiding teams through tooling and process improvements on-site in Warren, MI.

The ideal candidate excels at designing robust pipelines, containerized apps, and providing mentorship while ensuring security is integrated into development and deployment workflows.

Qualifications

• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
• Solid experience with hands on GitLab
• Containerization & Orchestration: Docker – building, securing, and managing container images
• Kubernetes - deploying, configuring, and securing containerized workloads
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform – provisioning cloud or on‑prem infrastructure
• Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure or GCP
• Security Tooling & DevSecOps Practices : SAST/DAST tools
• Monitoring & Logging: Prometheus + Grafana – especially common in DevSecOps pipelines
• ELK stack or OpenSearch – log aggregation
• Basic observability practices
• System Administration Adjacent Skills: Linux administration – strong comfort with shell, systemd, processes, permissions
• Networking fundamentals – DNS, firewalls, routing, certificates/TLS
• Package management, patching, and server hardening basics
• Collaboration & Process Tools: Jira or similar workflow/issue tracking tools
• Confluence or wiki-based documentation
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required)

Responsibilities

We’re seeking a DevSecOps practitioner with strong experience enabling modern software delivery practices across development teams. The ideal candidate excels at designing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines, building and securing containerized applications, and guiding teams through tooling and process improvements.

This role requires on-site work in Warren, MI and cannot be performed remotely.
