Job summary

CACI is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support research teams with on-site systems engineering, containerization, and automation. You will build Docker images, manage containers and volumes, and write Compose files to run multi-container applications.

The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph, 6 years of prototype development experience or advanced degrees, and practical knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Python for scripting. Collaborative work across security-focused projects is expected.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required.
• 6 years of experience in application prototype development with a related degree; or a Master’s with 4 years; or a Ph.D. with 2 years.
• Strong Docker/containerization expertise to build, run, and optimize containers.
• Foundational knowledge of Docker Swarm and Kubernetes.
• 1–2 years of Python experience for developing custom scripts.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site systems engineering and systems administration support to research teams.
• Respond to TCOR-identified requests to operate, extend, and maintain team projects.
• Build Docker images from Dockerfiles and apply tags/labels for versioning.
• Manage Docker image lifecycles including listing, updating, deleting, and cleanup.
• Run and manage multiple containers in shared environments, including starting/stopping/inspecting.
• Efficiently manage volumes for containerized applications and troubleshoot using logs.
• Write and use Docker Compose files to define and run multi-container apps.
• Integrate with enterprise authentication/authorization tools.
• Manage and schedule cron jobs.
• Use Git for version control and handle code merges with non-uniform standards.
• Apply SQL skills and support backend database development.
