Summary:

• The DevOps Engineer- AWS for the Digital Payments Disbursements Team will work as part of the larger team to lead the configuration, development, integration, and support of Huntington’s Cloud Native Payments Disbursement application while helping to ensure consistency with company strategy and goals. Manage technical delivery of complex or strategic projects. Maintain a high level of expertise related to technical enhancements, methodologies, and latest trends in Cloud-based software.
• We are looking for a DevOps Engineer- for our AWS development team within our Digital Payments technology organization. The candidate should be capable of developing new capabilities like modularization, configuration-driven enhancements, normalization (to support vertical and horizontal expansion of data model), etc., into our digital payment disbursement platform called ChoicePay. This platform enables administrators to manage disbursements and allows payees to collect payments via their preferred methods (PayPal, Venmo, ACH, Check, Gift Card, Debit Card, Zelle, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Be a DevOps Engineer- AWS across all technology stacks within the Payment Disbursement portfolio, providing hands-on delivery of new capabilities for the AWS Development Team.
• Act as a senior team member, working with business analysts on requirements, providing development estimates, writing technical design documents, mentoring, and proposing solutions for small to mid-sized projects, adhering to cloud trends and Huntington standards.
• Develop primary execution engine on AWS Lambda to support high availability and high-volume payment origination, processing, disbursement, and settlement.
• Create scalable, event-based applications using Amazon SQS and SNS, diagnosing logs and root causes with AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
• Develop storage solutions using EC2, DynamoDB, and RDS PostgreSQL. Build ad hoc reports using QuickSight.
• Implement security features such as threat monitoring with AWS GuardDuty, web API threat blocking with Amazon WAF, and security checks with AWS SecurityHub.
• Develop APIs for UI communication using API Gateway, configure endpoints with AppSync and SecretsManager, maintain high-performance APIs with X-Ray, and integrate logs with Splunk via Kinesis Firehose.
• Establish user management with AWS Cognito and KMS.
• Configure networking with VPC and manage configurations using AWS Config.
• Set up communication features like notifications and system emails with SES, and large data transfers with AWS TransferFamily.
• Apply expert-level change and incident management practices using ServiceNow.
• Ensure all team deliverables are met, including planning, design, testing, defect fixes, deployment, and support.
• Track progress using systems like ADO and Jira.
• Support staffing decisions, including hiring and onboarding.
• Provide 24/7/365 L3 production support.
• Collaborate effectively with IT and business partners, communicating fluently across technical and non-technical audiences.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of practical experience with DevOps tools such as Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, EventBridge, S3, ECS, etc.
• 3+ years using Unix/Linux commands.
• Experience with AWS services including Fargate, CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, Control Tower, Organizations, SSO, WAF, Shield, Cognito, MFA, Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, Batch, SFTP, TransferFamily, SQS, SES, SNS, Route53, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, QLDB, DynamoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, JSON, XML, YAML, HTML, CSS, CSV, Python, JavaScript, React.JS, Node.js.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of full-stack cloud-native application development experience using AWS services.
• 3+ years Linux command line experience.
• Experience in payments or payment processing systems (e.g., PayPal, Venmo, ACH, Check, Gift Card, Zelle).
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar container orchestration tools.
• Experience with relational databases like Aurora, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, React.JS, Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of security, monitoring, and alerting tools.
• Excellent documentation, analytical, communication, and SDLC skills.
