Job summary

Base-2 Solutions seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, deploy, and sustain a containerized microservices platform in Bethesda, MD. The role focuses on scalable infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and operational excellence in a high-security environment.

You will work with Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and GitLab to enable robust data pipelines while collaborating with architecture, security, and development teams in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience in the category field.
• Strong Linux proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD orchestration and GitLab.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
• Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments.

Position Summary

Support the NMEC DOMEX Technology Platform and D3P Modernization effort by designing, deploying, and maintaining a full-stack containerized microservices architecture in a mission-focused engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating systems at scale.

• Development experience with Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, or Java.
• Experience supporting enterprise or production systems.
• Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging systems, Kubernetes monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, GPU-based Kubernetes, SALT for deployment automation, Helm/Helmfile, and Nexus.

Required Education and Experience Equivalency

• Bachelors’ Degree with 10 years of experience.
• Masters’ Degree with 10 years of experience.
• PhD with 10 years of experience.
