Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced team in San Antonio, TX. You will implement infrastructure, automate deployments, and ensure monitoring, reliability and scalability of services.

The ideal candidate has strong Kubernetes and AWS skills, experience with Terraform/Ansible, and a background in Big Data solutions. On-site work in San Antonio is required, with flexibility for the customer site schedule.

Qualifications

  • Active TS clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
  • 5+ years in DevOps Engineering or software development; or 3 years with a Master's.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda).
  • Proficient with Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Support cloud infrastructure deployment in AWS, especially EKS.
  • Automate deployment processes for reliability and scalability.
  • Manage Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate applications into infrastructure.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot production systems and resolve issues.
  • Continuously improve processes for high availability.

Anticipated Salary Range: $100,173.00 - $130,000.00. The salary range for this role is intended as a good faith estimate based on the role's location, expectations, and responsibilities. Job Description

Enlighten is seeking a highly motivated and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team. The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge in Kubernetes and Container Orchestration, Configuration Management, CI/CD, Automation, AWS, Linux systems administration, Scripting in Bash and Programming in Python, and a background in Big Data solutions. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the monitoring, reliability and scalability of our services. This role currently supports a customer onsite in San Antonio, TX.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, especially EKS.
  • Support development and deployment of non-cloud (Edge) infrastructure of on-premise and portable equipment.
  • Automate deployment processes and ensure reliability and scalability of services.
  • Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate their applications into the infrastructure.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and resolve issues as necessary.
  • Continuously improve processes and tools to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Stay current with new technologies and industry trends, continuously exploring new ways to improve our infrastructure.
  • Seamlessly transition between hands-on execution and team guidance, treating mentorship and team leadership as inherent components of senior-level impact.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Clearance Requirement: Must currently have and maintain an active TS level U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development and Bachelors in related field; or 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) and their application to deployment and management of infrastructure.
  • Proficient in configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience with application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
  • Ability to develop in multiple programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Familiarity with Git, Flux, and other development and deployment tools.
  • Must be comfortable in a terminal-based environment.
  • Proficient knowledge of Linux, including system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a tech lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams.
  • Must be willing/able to help open/close the workspace during regular business hours as needed.
  • Must be able to work on customer site in San Antonio, TX 3-5 days a week. Flexibility is essential to accommodate any changes in the schedule due to this being a customer interfacing role.
Preferred Requirements
  • An active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Experience with big data technologies like: Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, Presto, etc.
  • Experience with containers, EKS, Diode, CI/CD, and Terraform are a plus.
  • DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level II compliance certifications may be required in this position as directed by the customer.
