Enlighten, honored as a Top Workplace from USA Today, seeks a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our Fort Meade-based team. You will design and maintain cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable, scalable services for our big data solutions.

You'll collaborate with software developers to deploy applications securely, monitor production systems, and continuously improve platforms.

Qualifications

• Active TS level U.S. Government Security Clearance (or ability to obtain) and U.S. Citizenship.
• 9+ years in DevOps Engineering or Software Development with related BS; or 7+ years with Masters; or 13 years with HS.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
• AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) and their deployment/management of infrastructure.
• Terraform and Ansible configuration management.
• Python, Bash, or Go development.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, and other deployment tools.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications (Security+) within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work on customer site in Fort Meade, MD 5 days a week.

Anticipated Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $190,000.00. The salary range for this role is intended as a good faith estimate based on the role's location, expectations, and responsibilities. Job Description

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge in Kubernetes and Container Orchestration, Configuration Management, CI/CD, Automation, Linux systems administration, Scripting in Bash and Programming in Python, AWS and a background in Big Data solutions. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the monitoring, reliability and scalability of our services. This role currently supports a customer onsite in Fort Meade, MD.

#Mid-Senior Level

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, especially EKS.
• Automate deployment processes and implement CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliability and rapid scaling.
• Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to seamlessly integrate their applications into the operational infrastructure.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and resolve them to maintain high availability.
• Continuously improve processes and tools to ensure high availability and performance.
• Stay current with new technologies and industry trends, continuously exploring new ways to improve our infrastructure.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Clearance Requirement: Must currently have and maintain an active TS level U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI level Security Clearance is required.
• 9+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development and Bachelors in related field; or 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge with one or more of the following:
  • Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
  • AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) and their application to deployment and management of infrastructure.
  • Configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
• Ability to develop in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, and other development and deployment tools.
• Comfortable operating in a terminal-based environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Must have or be able to obtain DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications (i.e., Security+) within 30 days of hire.
• Must be willing/able to help open/close the workspace during regular business hours as needed.
• Must be able to work on customer site in Fort Meade, MD 5 days a week. Flexibility is essential to accommodate any changes in the schedule.

Preferred Requirements

• Currently holds an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• Proficient knowledge of Linux, including system administration and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, Helm, and other development and deployment tools.
• Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, Presto, etc.
• Experience with K9s, AWS CLI, AWS SNS, AWS SQS, and AWS Diode.
• Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites.
