Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join our on-site Ft. Belvoir team. You will implement infrastructure, automate deployments, and ensure monitoring, reliability, and scalability of services in a Linux environment.

Onsite work with potential travel aligns with DoD security requirements. The role emphasizes Kubernetes orchestration, AWS-based deployments, and automation using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting in Python/Bash/Go.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development and a Bachelor's in a related field; or 3 years with a Master's in related field; or 9 years with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
• Experience with AWS services (EKS, EC2, S3, etc.) and deployment/management of infrastructure.
• Configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Ability to develop in Python, Bash, or Go; comfortable in a terminal-based environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; DoD 8140/8570 compliance certifications or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, especially EKS.
• Automate deployment processes and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliability and rapid scaling.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS.

This position will include a $20K Sign On Bonus, if hired as an employee for Enlighten. Anticipated Salary Range: $115,199.00-$160,000.00. The salary range for this role is intended as a good faith estimate based on the role's location, expectations, and responsibilities. Seeking a highly motivated and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge in Kubernetes and Container Orchestration, Configuration Management, CI/CD, Automation, Linux systems administration, Scripting in Bash and Programming in Python, AWS and a background in Big Data solutions. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the monitoring, reliability and scalability of our services. Work is performed onsite in Ft. Belvoir with a great team and could include occasional travel.

• Support the development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, especially EKS.
• Assist in automating deployment processes and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to ensure the reliability and rapid scaling of services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Clearance Requirement: Must currently have and maintain an active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development and Bachelors in related field; or 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Strong working knowledge of one or more of the following:
  • Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
  • AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda) and their application to deployment and management of infrastructure.
  • Configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
• Ability to develop in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Comfortable operating in a terminal-based environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have a DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications (i.e. Security+) or the ability to obtain before starting with the company.
• Must be able to work on customer site in Ft. Belvoir, VA 5 days a week and be able to travel occasionally.However, flexibility is essential to accommodate any changes in the schedule.
• Must be willing/able to help open/close the workspace during regular business hours as needed.

Preferred Requirements

• Proficient knowledge of Linux, including system administration and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, Helm, and other development and deployment tools.
• Experience or familiarity with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, Presto, etc.
• Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites.
• Experience or familiarity with K9s, AWS CLI is a plus.
• Work could possibly require some on-call work.
