Job summary

Esmcorp is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support an enterprise-level program in a federal environment. You will help move from monoliths to microservices, deploying in hardened containers while collaborating on DevSecOps pipelines and tooling.

The role emphasizes guidance, deployment sustainment, and using both commercial and open-source technologies to modernize software delivery. Strong cloud and container experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of microservices architecture, containerization, DevSecOps, and modern software development practices.
  • Ability to architect, implement, and oversee CI/CD pipelines, automated software development toolchains, and monitoring solutions across diverse technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OpenStack, and containerization platforms such as Docker and OpenShift.
  • Ability to modernize and refactor monolithic applications into secure, scalable microservices architectures using hardened containers.
  • Experience leading DevOps methodologies, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and SAFe Agile practices within large-scale, product-centric environments.
  • Ability to guide development teams in designing, developing, testing, deploying, and sustaining secure software solutions throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of configuration management, infrastructure automation, and scripting technologies, including Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, and related tools.

Enterprise Solutions and Management (ESM) is a rapidly growing government contractor that provides strategic IT services that meet mission needs for Defense and Federal customers. We are hiring a DevOps Engineer to support an enterprise-level program within a federal environment.

Job Description and Responsibilities

Facilitates the development and modernization of software solutions by transitioning applications from monolithic architectures to microservices deployed in hardened containers. Collaborates with application development teams to design, refactor, and deploy solutions using DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines and tools. Provides technical guidance and mentorship throughout the development process and supports the deployment and sustainment of a microservices platform using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and open-source technologies.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture, containerization, DevSecOps, and modern software development practices.
  • Ability to architect, implement, and oversee CI/CD pipelines, automated software development toolchains, and monitoring solutions across diverse technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OpenStack, and containerization platforms such as Docker and OpenShift.

  • CSP certification
  • Prefer SAFe Agile Certification or equivalent
  • Security+ certification

Physical Requirements
  • Required to stand, walk and sit; communicate verbally both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking (including stairs) throughout offices and between buildings. May require use of public transportation, personal or Government vehicle to drive to local and/or remote office locations.
