Job summary

Leidos is seeking DevOps Engineers to support UK programmes in 2026. Responsibilities include scrum participation, requirements analysis, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration across Agile teams. Cross-training in systems engineering, software development, security, and testing is expected.

You will work with AWS-based databases, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC tools, ensuring alignment with Leidos standards. Strong English communication and eligibility for UK clearance are required.

Qualifications

Job description

Due to growth within UK programmes, we will need talented DevOps Engineers throughout the course of 2026… Duties include participating in daily scrums, performing software requirements analysis, risk identification, risk mitigation, and collaboration across Agile teams. Flexible cross-training to also provide systems engineering, software development, training, security, and testing is also desired.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment.
• Plan and execute migration of database and associated date from physical/IaaS to virtual AWS instances
• Configures database for optimal performance/resilience/replication/reporting/administration and data backup/archiving regime
• Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to SQL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
• Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end (e.g., COGNOS)/back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL). Performs database programming and supports systems design.
• Contribute to runbooks for maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.
• Align with existing Leidos delivery standards and identify/craft/suggest improvements thereon Software engineering experience
• Considerable experience with developing software code in AWS Services, Jira, Confluence, TestRail, SonarQube, Robot, Python, Bitbucket, Jenkins, TerraForm, Ansible, Unix bash scripting IaC and an appreciation for the SDLC
• Considerable experience in translating user stories into engineering deliverables and associated documentation.
• Perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environments leverage GitFlow constructs
• Considerable experience of with automated build/test/deploy
• Considerable experience of AWS, SME (Wintel / Unix / Virtualised Networking / Monitoring / Security)
• Experience of SAFe
• Collaborator, self-starter
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and deliver results key milestones targets
• Align with existing Leidos delivery standards and identify/craft/suggest improvements thereon
• Excellent English, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Must be a UK Citizen and based in UK for the duration
• Must have, or be able to obtain, a UK SC Clearance
