Job description

Do you want to join our team of GitHub geeks and get one step ahead in transforming how organizations build software? At Xebia Microsoft Services we are proud to be GitHub Partner of the Year, working with Microsoft MVP’s and GitHub Stars, and keeping short lines with the GitHub product teams. That means you get to work on some of the coolest GitHub projects out there. You will help clients migrate, optimize developer workflows, and turn complex processes into automated value streams. Think less firefighting and more innovation. And don’t worry, you do not need to know everything about GitHub on day one. What matters most is your DevOps DNA. You understand how modern engineering culture works, and you know that tools are only powerful when people actually use them well.

As a DevOps Engineer you help organizations get the most out of GitHub, combining technical expertise with consultancy skills. You are a trusted advisor who helps clients embrace modern DevOps practices and make GitHub the backbone of their software delivery. Sometimes that means rolling up your sleeves to build workflows and pipelines. Other times it means translating business challenges into technical solutions and guiding teams through change. You will collaborate across teams to make sure GitHub becomes an integrated way of working rather than just a platform.

Responsibilities
  • Onboarding and Configuration: guide clients on their GitHub journey, from environment setup and initial onboarding to adoption
  • Pipeline Implementation: build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, including advanced setups such as AKS self-hosted runners and Azure private networking
  • Migration: support complex repository and pipeline migrations, using automation and tools like GitHub Advanced Implementations (GAI) to streamline the process
  • Governance and Automation: enhance the platform with governance frameworks, reusable workflow templates, and onboarding processes that ensure consistency and scalability
  • Collaboration with GitHub: work closely with GitHub product teams and translate new features and best practices into client solutions
  • Knowledge Sharing: conduct workshops, Q&A sessions, and hands‑on garage days to transfer knowledge and empower client teams
What You Will Bring

You do not need to be a GitHub expert from day one. If you have experience with platforms like GitLab or Azure DevOps and the eagerness to learn, you will fit right in. What matters most is your ability to combine technical expertise with consultancy skills and your drive to help teams succeed. We are looking for a consultant who brings energy and a strong engineering mindset to every challenge. You know how to dive deep into automation and pipelines, but also how to ask the right questions, simplify complex topics, and build trust with different audiences.

  • DevOps DNA: a proven background in DevOps practices and CI/CD, with experience improving software delivery processes
  • Platform Experience: hands‑on experience with e.g. GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps and the curiosity to grow into GitHub expertise
  • Infrastructure Skills: practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep) and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Consultancy & Communication: the ability to engage with both engineers and executives, build trust with stakeholders, lead workshops, and simplify complex challenges
  • Growth Mindset: eagerness to learn from Microsoft MVPs, GitHub Stars, and colleagues who push the boundaries of what is possible
Your Path To Success In The First Year
  • Build trust with clients by delivering high‑quality GitHub solutions that improve their developer experience.
  • Collaborate on migrations and optimizations with experienced colleagues, developing the expertise to independently lead projects as your skills grow.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, guiding organizations in adopting DevOps practices and scaling GitHub across teams.
  • Share your expertise inside and outside Xebia, through knowledge sessions, blogs, talks, or community contributions.
