Job summary

Surge Technology Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced DevOps / Cloud Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA to design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure and deployment environments.

The role emphasizes AWS, CI/CD, IaC, containerization, cloud security, monitoring, and automation. You will collaborate with development, QA, security, and operations teams to improve delivery, reliability, and performance across development, staging, and production environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, CI/CD, IaC, containerization, cloud security, monitoring, and deployment automation.
• Experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience supporting enterprise web applications in development and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and maintain development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Automate build, deployment, configuration, and release processes.
• Design and manage AWS cloud infrastructure and associated services.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational processes.
• Support application availability, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Implement cloud security, access control, networking, and environment management best practices.
• Establish and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
• Support application releases and production deployments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, deployment, networking, and environment-related issues.
• Identify opportunities for infrastructure optimization, automation, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with development and engineering teams to establish and improve DevOps practices and standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of infrastructure, deployment, security, and operational processes.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced DevOps / Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure and deployment environments.The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, cloud security, monitoring, and deployment automation. You will work closely with development, QA, security, and operations teams to improve application delivery, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency

Key Responsibilities

• 5+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, or a related field
• Strong hands-on experience with the AWS cloud platform
• Strong experience in CI/CD and deployment automation
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience with containerization technologies
• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, monitoring, and logging
• Experience supporting enterprise web applications in development and production environments
• Strong understanding of Git-based development, branching, and release processes
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with development, QA, security, and operations teams
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code tools
• Strong knowledge of AWS services across compute, storage, networking, security, and monitoring
• Experience implementing automated security and vulnerability scanning within CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with cloud cost optimization and resource management
• Experience establishing and implementing DevOps practices for new application
• Experience with automation and scripting using technologies such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Familiarity with modern observability and centralized logging solution
