SAIC in Panama City Beach, FL seeks a DevOps Engineer to support JEXC2 networks, focusing on VMware, Linux, Windows, Ansible automation, and containerized applications.

The role is onsite with a transition toward sustainment over 18–24 months. DoD 8140/8570.01-M IAT/IAM Level II certification and Interim Secret clearance eligibility are required or pursued.

You will collaborate across teams to maintain CI/CD pipelines, manage infrastructure, and ensure secure, reliable deployments.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2 years' experience; 4 years may substitute.
• Experience with Git-based version control, including GitLab or GitHub, branching, reviews, and releases.
• Proficient with Ansible playbooks, inventories, and automation troubleshooting.
• Experience with VMware virtualization and Windows or RHEL environments.
• Familiar with container images, Kubernetes troubleshooting, and infrastructure scripting.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Certification per DoD 8140/8570.01-M at IAT or IAM Level II (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP) preferred.
• Active Interim Secret clearance or eligibility to obtain one before starting; Top Secret clearance eligibility.

SAIC is searching for a DevOps Engineer to support one of the foundational networks in the Joint Expeditionary Command and Control (JEXC2) family of systems. JEXC2 systems are made up of various command, control, communications, computers and intelligence subsystems and networks, including associated infrastructure and communications equipment.

Work will be performed onsite in Panama City Beach, FL.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting VMware infrastructure, Linux and Windows systems, and infrastructure automation using Ansible and GitLab. The role focuses on maintaining and improving virtual environments, automation workflows, containerized applications, and system deployment processes.

Note: currently, this role is primarily focused on providing engineering support for naval system builds and installs. Within the next 18-24 months, the role will transition to more operation support and sustainment-focused once the installs have been completed.

Responsibilities:

• Manage source control, branches, code reviews, and releases using Git and platforms such as GitLab or GitHub; maintain repositories and GitLab runners as needed.
• Maintain inventories, execute and modify existing playbooks and roles, troubleshoot automation, and develop basic automation as needed.
• Maintain and modify Windows and RHEL staging scripts used to configure and deploy systems.
• Configure physical server hardware and management interfaces to prepare systems for VMware ESXi installation; maintain virtual infrastructure and VDI images.
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches, firewall policies, VLANs, and network connectivity; support Palo Alto firewalls and VMware NSX configurations.
• Build and maintain container images, troubleshoot Kubernetes issues, and support containerized applications.
• Modify Active Directory Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and troubleshoot DNS configuration and name-resolution issues.
• Update and maintain system, application, and infrastructure certificates; troubleshoot certificate-related issues.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience; 4 additional years experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with Git-based version control, including GitLab or GitHub, branching, code reviews, and release management.
• Working knowledge of Ansible, including modifying playbooks, managing inventories, and troubleshooting automation.
• Experience supporting VMware virtualization, server hardware, and Windows or RHEL environments.
• Familiarity with container images, Kubernetes troubleshooting, and infrastructure scripting.
• Strong technical troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Certification per DoD 8140/8570.01-M at IAT or IAM Level II (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP, or CGRC/CAP.)
• Must possess an active Interim Secret clearance or be eligible to obtain one before beginning work on the program, and be eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
