Job summary

Delta Dental Ins. is seeking a DevOps Engineer to automate and optimize software delivery lifecycles across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will leverage Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Jenkins to manage infrastructure, deployments, and CI/CD pipelines.

This role combines hands-on engineering with continuous improvement, empowering developers via self‑service tooling and training while collaborating with the DevOps Tools and Automation team to advance our DevOps maturity.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience designing and operating scalable, secure cloud infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of GitHub Actions pipelines and YAML configurations
  • Experience with AWS/Azure/cloud providers and Terraform (IaC)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Github actions pipelines using YAML, triggers, agents, release management
  • Architect and manage Azure cloud services including AKS, App Service, ACE, APIM, AFD, ADF, Power apps and App gateway
  • Familiar with infrastructure as code using Terraform for provisioning Azure resources
  • Automate tasks and interact with on‑premise systems via shell scripting
  • Integrate and manage GitHub CI/CD pipelines for apps deployed to Azure and on‑premise
  • Work with Docker for packaging, shipping, and running in CI/CD pipelines
  • Manage deployments and configurations of servers like WebLogic and SpringBoot, in Docker
  • Support Java and Node.js apps deployed in Docker containers
  • Configure and maintain Apache httpd web servers
  • Develop self‑service capabilities within GitHub Enterprise Cloud for developers
  • Train and mentor developers on CI/CD practices
  • Collaborate with DevOps Tools and Automation teams to improve DevOps maturity

You will leverage your expertise in Azure DevOps, Terraform and Jenkins to manage infrastructure and application deployments across cloud and on-premise environments.

This role combines hands‑on technical work with a focus on continuous improvement. You'll not only troubleshoot and resolve daily issues, but also identify opportunities to empower developers and automation engineers through self‑service capabilities and training. By collaborating with the DevOps Tools and Automation team, you'll help us elevate our overall DevOps maturity.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Github actions pipelines utilizing YAML configuration, triggers, build agents, release management, and deployment strategies
  • Architect and manage Azure cloud services including AKS, App Service, ACE, APIM, AFD, ADF, Power apps and App gateway

  • Work with DevOps tools and Automation teams to enhance the overall DevOps state
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience w/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field; additional experience may be accepted in lieu of education or degree
  • Experience designing and developing highly scalable and secure cloud infrastructure in Oracle, AWS, GCP and Azure
  • Strong experience with GitHub actions pipelines, including YAML configuration, triggers, build agents, release management, and deployment strategies
  • AWS and/or Azure cloud experience
  • Knowledge of Terraform and infrastructure as code (IaC) principles
  • Proficiency in Shell/Python scripting for automating tasks and interacting with systems
  • Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and their integration with CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with application servers like WebLogic, ReactJS and SpringBoot, ideally deployed in Docker containers
  • Experience with Java and Node.js applications deployed in Docker containers
  • Knowledge of web server configuration with Apache httpd
  • Experience with WebLogic deployments and configuration
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and methodologies
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience in training and mentoring developers on CI/CD practices (preferred)
  • Passionate about automation and continuous improvement
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies quickly
  • Team player with a collaborative approach
  • Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines
Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good‑faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.

Pay Grade 22. $93,445 - $202,465.
