Job summary

BlackLine Systems Inc is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to assess and improve performance, reliability, and security for production applications. You will lead the cloud migration roadmap and ensure enterprise-grade security and compliance across the platform.

You will own CI/CD pipelines, implement observability and alerting, and drive infrastructure as code and automation to support scalable, resilient services.

Qualifications

• IaC tools with 3+ years of experience (Terraform, Ansible or CloudFormation).
• 3+ years designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• 3+ years on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• 3+ years hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes for packaging and deployments.
• 3+ years setting up monitoring/logging with Prometheus, Grafana or ELK Stack.
• 3+ years scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell for automation.

Make Your Mark:

The Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for assessing, testing, tracking, predicting, and reporting all related performance aspects of a suite of production applications from a performance, responsiveness, capacity, and availability perspective.

You'll Get To:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for building, securing, and operating the systems that power WiseLayer's production environment. You will play a central role in executing our cloud migration roadmap, improving system reliability, and ensuring our platform meets enterprise-grade security and compliance expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead execution of GCP migration and modernization initiatives, including IAM, networking, and infrastructure-as-code
• Own CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and environment standardization
• Implement and maintain observability, logging, and alerting across all services

• Support data privacy and compliance requirements by improving data handling, retention, and access controls
• Partner with engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, and release velocity
• Support migration and optimization of cloud services (compute, storage, messaging, databases)
• Design and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity processes

What You'll Bring:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):Proven experience withat least 3+ yearsin IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of infrastructure, ensuring consistency and reliability in our deployments.

• CI/CD Pipeline Management:Demonstrated ability with3+ years of experiencein designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI. You will automate the build, test, and deployment processes to enable faster and more reliable software delivery.

• Cloud Computing Platforms:Strong knowledge, witha minimum of 3 years of experience,on at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. You will be responsible for managing and optimizing these environments for high availability and scalability.

• Containerization and Orchestration:Over 3+ years of hands-on experiencewith containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes. This is essential for packaging, deploying, and managing applications in a consistent and scalable manner.

• Monitoring and Logging:3+ years of expertisein setting up and managing monitoring and logging solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack. You will track system performance, availability, and security to proactively identify and resolve issues.

• Scripting and Automation:At least 3+ years of proficiencyin scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate repetitive tasks and create custom tools. This skill is crucial for improving efficiency and reducing manual errors in our operations.

Salary Range:

$116,000.00-$145,000.00

Pay Transparency Statement:

Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location.

In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.

We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring candidates have clear information about compensation expectations. For roles that include variable incentive components such as an Incentive Compensation Plan (ICP) or On-Target Earnings (OTE), the compensation structure may follow a split model - for example, a 50/50, 70/30, or 60/40 ratio between base salary and variable incentive.
