Job description

Opportunity Overview

We are currently searching for a DevSecOps / DevOps Engineer on behalf of a venture-backed, Series A defense-tech startup. Our client has engineered an AI-powered, FedRAMP High platform designed to solve one of the hardest problems in national security software: allowing commercial, cutting-edge SaaS and AI applications to deploy onto classified military networks in weeks instead of years.

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of high-growth commercial technology and national security. You will build cloud automation, harden platform security, and manage containerized infrastructure to ensure mission-critical software runs seamlessly across government and defense networks.

Core Responsibilities
  • Platform Security & Infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain cloud automation pipelines, containerized infrastructure, and platform security controls across multi-cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Compliance & Automation: Implement automated security guardrails, vulnerability scanning, and secret management tools to maintain continuous compliance across FedRAMP High and NIST standards.
  • Continuous Integration & Deployment: Build scalable CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration environments, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules.
  • Observability & System Reliability: Deploy robust monitoring, logging, and threat mitigation frameworks to maintain continuous uptime for high-stakes operational environments.
Key Technical Stack & Skills
  • Cloud Infrastructure & IaC: AWS, Azure, or GCP paired with Terraform and HashiCorp Vault.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker, and microservice ecosystem tools.
  • Platform Security & Observability: CrowdStrike, Grafana, continuous integration scanning, and cloud-native monitoring suites.
  • Security Frameworks: Operational exposure to FedRAMP, NIST guidelines, or government defense security controls.
  • Base Salary: $150,000 + Stock Options
  • Bonuses: Performance-based incentives
  • Flexibility: Remote execution with collaborative hub-access
  • Strong PTO

Location: Arlington, VA (Onsite initially while office is established; flexible hybrid model after 3-6 months)

Compensation: $150,000 Base Salary + Equity + Comprehensive Benefits Package

Security/Eligibility: U.S. Citizenship Required (Ability to operate within clearance/FedRAMP frameworks)
