Job summary

JobNimbus is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to build reliable, scalable, and automated infrastructure that keeps our platform running smoothly. You will own components end-to-end, from Terraform deployments to monitoring dashboards, while reducing toil through automation.

You will participate in on-call rotations, implement effective alerts, and collaborate with Product and Engineering to deliver pragmatic, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, deploying, and operating infrastructure as code end-to-end.
• Solid understanding of AWS core services and cloud cost/reliability impact.
• Knowledge of monitoring/observability and alerting that matter.
• Proficiency in scripting languages and automation to reduce toil.
• Comfortable participating in on-call rotations and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate infrastructure components end-to-end from Terraform to monitoring dashboards.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code with observability, failure modes, and blast radius in mind.
• Participate in on-call rotation, triage incidents, resolve pages, and improve systems after events.
• Create and maintain runbooks to speed up incident response.
• Implement SLIs/observability for owned systems to meet reliability targets.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and reduce manual work across the team.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) to improve deployment reliability.
• Collaborate with Product/Engineering to deliver infrastructure solutions.
• Provide code reviews and improve documentation within your domain.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate delivery and share useful patterns with teammates.
• Deepen expertise in at least one specialty area (Kubernetes, observability, CI/CD, etc.) while maintaining broad platform knowledge.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, deploy, and operate infrastructure components independently — owning them end-to-end from Terraform to monitoring dashboards.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform) with observability, failure modes, and blast radius in mind.
• Participate in the primary on-call rotation — triaging incidents, resolving pages, escalating appropriately, and improving systems after every event.
• Create and maintain runbooks so future incidents are resolved faster and with less friction.
• Implement SLIs and monitoring for the systems you own, ensuring they meet reliability expectations.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks — measuring time saved and reducing manual intervention across the team.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred), improving deployment reliability and developer experience.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to understand their infrastructure needs and deliver pragmatic solutions.
• Provide thoughtful code review feedback within your domain and continuously improve documentation.
• Use AI tools in your daily workflow to accelerate delivery — validating output carefully and sharing useful patterns with teammates.
• Continuously deepen expertise in at least one specialty area (Kubernetes, observability, CI/CD, cloud networking, etc.) while maintaining broad platform competency.

What Makes You the Hero for This Job

• Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent) — you can build and deploy independently.
• Working knowledge of AWS (compute, networking, storage, IAM) and how cloud architecture decisions impact reliability and cost.
• Understanding of containers (Docker) and container orchestration concepts.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred).
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools — you know how to implement alerts that matter, not noise.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, or Go).
