Qualifications

• Strong experience with AWS, creating cloud formation templates.
• Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration.
• Experience with configurations using Puppet, Chef or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Oracle.
• Working knowledge of coding/scripting (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby).
• Knowledge of IT operations best practices for highly available services.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and willingness to take on responsibility.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Networking knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, proxies and load balancers.
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging systems (LogRobot, Graphite, LogicMonitor, ELK stack, etc.) is a plus.
• Storage experience (NFS, SANs, RAID, LVM).
• Experience with version control systems (SVN, Git).
• Familiarity with Atlassian Suite (Confluence, JIRA) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, learn quickly and be proactive.
• Willingness to join a 24x7 on-call roster occasionally.
• Willingness to work off-routine hours occasionally.

Our client is a high‑tech company based in Chicago and they have a development center in Sofia, which is developing a comprehensive investment management platform for leading financial institutions.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to fulfill their team in Sofia.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong Amazon Web Services experience that includes creation of cloud formation templates to build AWS services that can support our custom Java application.
• Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
• Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required)
• Experience with Oracle
• A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always‑up, always‑available service
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a desire to take on responsibility
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to both technical and non‑technical audiences
• Networking knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, proxies and load balancers
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging systems such as LogRobot, Graphite, LogicMonitor, Logentries, SumoLogic, ELK Stack is an advantage
• Storage, any of the following – NFS, SANs, RAID, lvm
