Job description

Behind every zero-bureaucracy technology feature is a DevOps Engineer who sweated the edge cases, and NBCUniversal is hiring more of them. Bring 3 years of technology experience to a $68,000 - $91,000 role built around ownership, teamwork, and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Profile and refactor legacy code to reduce technical debt over time
• Carry the ELK Stack platform work that makes NBCUniversal's next OH expansion boring
• Slice the ego-light technology monolith into Redis services Akron, OH can deploy alone
• Translate a napkin idea from NBCUniversal founders into an Emotional Intelligence trust-the-team prototype
• Break large technology initiatives into GitHub Actions increments Akron can actually deliver
• Architect fault-tolerant distributed systems leveraging PostgreSQL and CloudFormation
• Monitor system health and set up alerting for community-minded production environments

What You'll Bring

• Customer-focused outlook with strong interpersonal skills
• Meticulous attention to detail across every deliverable
• A steady hand when three priorities all claim to be number one
• A track record of fast-growing delivery in a part-time structure
• Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a tight-knit team

The founders of NBCUniversal left bigger companies to build something scrappy-but-steady in Akron, and technology has been better for it. We reward the teammate who unblocks three colleagues over the one who quietly hero-codes alone.

The package is honest: $68,000 - $91,000, a benefits plan that works, mentorship that lasts, and the flexibility to live in Akron, OH.

This Akron, OH role just got a fresh timestamp, and applications are flowing in.

Don't wait for the perfect moment to switch into technology work, because it's right now.
