Job description

Device Support Specialist

Field-based / Full Time / Dallas

At Novocure, we're working to extend the lives of patients battling some of the most aggressive cancers. Every role here contributes to that mission - and as a Device Support Specialist, you'll work directly with patients and caregivers to help them understand Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) therapy, integrate treatment into daily routines, and receive reliable support throughout their care.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Device Support Specialist to support commercial oncology patients using TTFields therapy. You will educate patients and caregivers according to product labeling, provide ongoing coaching and technical support, and help patients work toward their therapy usage goals. You may also support oncology patients participating in clinical trials based on business needs.

This is a full-time, exempt, field-based position reporting to the Regional Manager, Device Support Specialist. The role requires frequent travel throughout an assigned territory and close collaboration with Territory Managers and other cross-functional partners.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Put patients at the center of every interaction by providing compassionate, high-quality care and service
  • Travel to patient homes and, when needed, physician offices or healthcare centers to conduct regular visits
  • Educate patients and caregivers on TTFields therapy, treatment initiation, and integration into daily routines
  • Provide ongoing enhanced training sessions and individualized coaching for patients and caregivers
  • Perform technical analysis and equipment maintenance, including troubleshooting and equipment replacement as needed
  • Collect and analyze patient data during monthly follow-up visits and provide appropriate resources based on individual needs
  • Conduct virtual visits when appropriate to improve accessibility and flexibility for patients
  • Provide timely phone, virtual, and in-person support, sometimes on short notice or outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Manage your workload independently across the assigned territory while following established timelines and patient interaction guidelines
  • Communicate openly with Territory Managers and other cross-functional partners to support patients and healthcare providers
  • Complete required assessments and adopt updates to standard operating procedures
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in the customer relationship management system and complete expense reports, inventory management, training, assessments, and other regulatory tasks
  • Follow all requirements for the administration, maintenance, and cleanliness of the company fleet vehicle
  • Adapt to changing business needs and schedules to provide consistent patient support
ABOUT YOU

You are comfortable supporting people who are navigating cancer treatment and can explain technical information with patience and clarity. You bring empathy, sound judgment, and the situational awareness to adapt your approach to each patient and caregiver.

You can work independently in a field-based role, manage frequent travel and changing schedules, and stay organized across patient visits, equipment responsibilities, and administrative requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree with 2 to 3 years of relevant professional experience, or bachelor's degree with 1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong emotional intelligence and situational awareness
  • Proficiency in basic computer operations, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, file management, and following test and troubleshooting procedures
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to dedicate approximately 60% of each week to travel, including overnight stays
  • Ability to travel by commercial air, including potential travel outside the assigned territory
  • Primary residence within the assigned territory
  • Space at your primary residence to securely store patient support materials in a safe, temperature-controlled environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and drive long distances
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with oncology patients or in a clinical or patient-facing role, such as medical assistant, nurse, or occupational therapist
  • Experience working in a for-profit environment
  • Experience with Concur and SAP
HOW YOU'LL WORK
  • Work in a field-based position serving patients throughout an assigned regional territory
  • Travel regularly by vehicle and air to meet patient care and service needs
  • Support patients by phone, virtually, and in person, including occasional short-notice, weekend, holiday, or outside-hours needs
  • Attend required company meetings within and outside the assigned territory
  • Maintain flexibility as territories may change based on business needs
