Job summary

First Solar is seeking a technically skilled Development Engineer Technician II to execute test plans, calibrate equipment, and analyze field data. The role involves supporting reliability engineering, updating documentation, and delivering quality test results.

Qualifications

• Experience in test development, field work and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access).
• Knowledge of JMP and SQL is desirable.
• Knowledge/experience with AC & DC voltage.
• Experience with PV data acquisition equipment and testing.
• Ability to read charts/graphs and identify trends.
• Ability to apply statistics to data.
• Strong communication across levels.

Responsibilities

• Learn test site operations, equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Support reliability and development engineering on requests.
• Resolve day-to-day equipment issues.
• Prepare/update intermediate reliability reports and metrics.
• Develop/update internal docs, drawings and specs.
• Ensure tests are completed on schedule and collect data.
• Perform data analysis with JMP/SQL and communicate findings.
• Train new technicians in testing and repair techniques.
• Participate in durability/stability meetings as needed.
• Adhere to safety and housekeeping standards.
