Join the Starship Electronics team to characterize and qualify batteries cell technologies for our next negation vehicles. Working in concert with the Inverter and Battery design teams, you will identify the operating environment under which cells need to perform, often pushing the hard past its rated capabilities to failure. In this role, you will perform a variety of testing from purely electrical such as EIS, to multi-displinary setups such as thermal runaway testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create test stand concepts, fabrication drawings, wiring schematics, and instrumentation lists
  • Write automation and analysis software to collect and interpret data from the variety of setups
  • Supervise the integration of test stands including fabrication, mechanical assembly, and data/control systems
  • Operate test stands with great attention to detail as the tests have very little margin for error, making attention to detail crucial and essential
  • Work with REs to fully understand the parameters under which their hardware needs to operate
  • Work closely with and consistently provide feedback to responsible design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and test lab teams to drive innovation in design and infrastructure to increase product reliability
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or an engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of experience with electronic hardware development or software development (academic projects, internships, and traditional professional experience all qualify)
  • 1+ years of programming experience using Python, MATLAB, or Embedded C/C++
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Electrical circuit design and manufacturing including layout
  • Solid modeling experience with parametric CAD
  • Proficient with programming languages, especially python
  • High attention to detail when designing and operating complex tests
