As a Technical Advisor in Y-12 Development, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing complex, multi-discipline engineering services in support of programs, projects and improvement activities of high importance to the organization. Ensures Y-12 Development organization's performance of the established scope of work and directs development, maintenance, and execution of a project/task technical work scope within budget and schedule.
Y-12 Development works multiple high profile technology development projects that require regular reporting to external and internal customers, including Program Integration, YFO, and NNSA. The position will report project status; integrate with funding Program Managers, Principal Investigators, and Production to establish and achieve milestones; and serve as the primary interface for Development on key technology initiatives. This position requires a highly technical level of knowledge, a thorough understanding of plant operations, future strategies for material processing, and the ability to resolve complex problems with a high level of visibility. This Advisor will also be involved in creating and validating the Annual Control Baseline for Development as well as other integration activities as they are needed.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Physical Science [Chemistry, Physics, or related] from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents from Canada or Mexico, the Washington Accord, or the list of substantially equivalent as documented by ABET AND 12 years of relevant experience. OR MS in Engineering/Physical science and 10 years of relevant experience. OR PhD in Engineering/Physical science and 7 years of relevant experience.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
