Job summary

Alexion seeks a Development Scientist I in New Haven, CT, to develop and optimize analytical methods for therapeutic proteins. You will work with CE-based techniques such as icIEF and CE-SDS, contribute to method validation and tech transfer, and support regulatory filings.

The role involves cross-functional teamwork with R&D, Manufacturing, QA/QC, and potential interactions with health authorities as needed. A PhD or relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree with 0-2 years of experience or master's with 4-6 years or bachelor's with 10+ years equivalent experience.
• Analytical method development experience in protein/peptide analysis by gel/capillary electrophoresis in pharma/biotech considered a plus.
• Knowledge of cGMP and quality guidelines is desired.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and qualify capillary electrophoresis methods for quality attributes of therapeutic proteins.
• Supervise operation and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation.
• Support transfer of methods to internal/external labs and author methodological reports.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, QA and QC teams; support regulatory filing documents.
