Job summary

Salt Lake City Corporation is seeking a Development Review Planner II to lead coordination and tracking of development requests and ensure compliance with zoning and site development ordinances. The role is an on-site position with a hybrid schedule and offers hourly pay levels based on experience.

Responsibilities include coordinating the Development Review Team, reviewing complex plans, and providing technical guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or related field with relevant professional experience.
• Ability to interpret development plans and perform computations.
• Knowledge of zoning, site development, subdivision, and related ordinances.
• Strong communication and data management skills.
• Willingness to travel to various sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and track building permit applications and related development projects.
• Coordinate Development Review Team processes with agencies to ensure timely responses.
• Review complex plans for zoning compliance with city ordinances.
• Attend meetings and communicate proposals to contractors, developers, and council groups.
• Provide training and guidance to junior staff.
• Write zoning interpretations and policy recommendations.
• Respond to public inquiries and maintain counter/phone coverage.
• Perform zoning analysis for complex construction projects.
