Job summary

QTS Data Centers seeks a seasoned project manager to oversee construction projects across multiple campuses. You will manage budgets, schedules, design reviews, and commissioning to ensure alignment with QTS standards. Travel up to 50% is required.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in technology-related fields and 4–8 years of experience in technology systems. Strong communication and leadership are essential for success.

Responsibilities
  • Manage construction projects across multiple campuses, overseeing design, implementation budgets, schedules, and status reports.
  • Review design documents to ensure compliance with QTS system standards and Basis of Design.
  • Verify system installations against design specifications.
  • Oversee commissioning to confirm systems meet QTS standards and design documents.
  • Implement and manage multi‑phased site development plans, achieving time, budget, and quality goals predictably.
  • Continuously update campus master plans to provide accurate, dynamic forecasts.
  • Evaluate and price proposals for technology design, construction, and commissioning services.
  • Monitor project schedules, manage teams, and remove obstacles to maintain on‑time delivery.
  • Act as liaison with key QTS stakeholders, representing QTS interests in OAC and low‑voltage meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal development teams to refine project management processes and protocols.
  • Develop relationships with Facility Operations and Technology teams to understand operational needs and deliver appropriate technologies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4–8 years of experience in technology systems—security, network infrastructure design, and/or implementation.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, typically 2–3 days every other week.
  • U.S. citizenship required by law for federal customer contracts.
  • Direct experience in constructing data centers, critical medical or industrial facilities, or large‑scale technology systems.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Advanced understanding of integrating technology systems into mission‑critical environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical issues to leadership or non‑engineers.
  • Project management or lead experience on large‑scale projects.
  • Multidisciplinary knowledge of mission‑critical systems, design processes, pre‑construction requirements, and construction phases.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage contractors and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong team player who fosters collaboration both internally and externally.
  • Capability to solve tactical and functional problems effectively.
