City of Greenville (SC) seeks a planning professional to assist with administering the City's Development Code, reviewing permits, and providing technical guidance to staff and the public.

Responsibilities include preparing amendments to land development regulations, addressing applications, coordinating planning boards, and researching regulations; this role requires collaboration with multiple city departments and possible after-hours meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, design, public administration, or a related field.
  • Over two (2) years of experience in planning, design, development review, public administration, and/or a related field.
  • Must meet professional development requirements for Local Planning or Zoning Officials per SC Code 6-29-1310.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with staff and applicants to discuss development regulations and permit applications.
  • Review civil, architectural, and landscape plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate planning intake, system entry, invoicing, and reviews.
  • Prepare staff reports and present findings to boards/commissions.
  • Prepare amendments to land development regulations.
  • Investigate and address violations of development regulations.
