Job summary

Sealaska Heritage Institute is seeking a Development Officer to manage comprehensive philanthropy efforts. You will develop multi-year fundraising campaigns and oversee major gift functions. Qualifications

  • Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with businesses and major donors.
  • Experience managing a geographically dispersed team in a fundraising context.

Responsibilities

  • Manage major gift functions to meet fundraising goals.
  • Develop and execute multi-year fundraising campaigns.
  • Coordinate with staff and volunteers for program funding.
  • Lead the Trustee Philanthropy Committee in fundraising efforts.

Skills

Effective leadership, management and training skills.
Excellent communication and writing skills
Expert knowledge of major gifts giving
Understanding of non-profit management practices
Knowledge of Southeast Alaska Native culture and languages

Education

Experience in planning and delivering budgetary responsibilities
Training in charitable giving principles
