Job summary

The St. Louis Aquarium Foundation is seeking a Development Manager to lead all development activities, working with the Executive Director to plan and execute annual appeals, donor stewardship, sponsorships, and event management.

This role will also oversee donor communications and fundraising campaigns. The position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with experience in major gifts, donor cultivation, and fundraising strategy, including events and grant work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of fundraising experience with proven ability to achieve fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support the mission of St. Louis Aquarium Foundation.
  • Create and implement annual development plan and strategy in partnership with the Executive Director.
  • Develop and execute solicitation and stewardship strategies for donors and sponsors.
  • Design and deliver appeals targeting donor level memberships and gifts.
  • Create and manage fundraising events including the annual gala.
  • Collaborate with Executive Director on donor communications, annual report, newsletters, and donor impact reports.
  • Work with the grant writing team to gather information needed for funding and reporting deadlines.
