Job summary

The Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience (The MAX) seeks a strategic Director of Development to lead all fundraising efforts and expand contributed revenue in support of Mississippi’s premier cultural institution.

Reporting to the President + CEO, this role builds fundraising infrastructure, engages donors across sectors, and partners with the board to position The MAX for a successful campaign and future growth across the state and region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible fundraising experience with demonstrated success in major gifts and revenue growth.
• Experience securing multi-donor gifts and meeting fundraising goals.
• Proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, DonorPerfect, Versai, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive annual development plan to achieve revenue goals.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors with a focus on major gifts of $10,000+.
• Oversee donor recognition, communications, and reporting to funders and the board.
