Job summary

Omaha Community Playhouse seeks a Development Director to partner with the Executive Director in shaping and executing a comprehensive fundraising program. The role emphasizes donor cultivation, grant writing, and sponsorship development, with shared responsibility across the organization for securing philanthropic support.

Qualifications

• Prior development experience, preferably in a leadership role.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Familiarity with fundraising laws and tax benefits.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop short-term and long-term development plans for gifts and pledges.
• Identify and research prospective donors and cultivate relationships.
• Solicit gifts and secure in-kind gifts and partnerships.
• Oversee grants proposals, reports, and case statements.
• Lead major fundraising campaigns and donor events, including an annual gala.
• Collaborate with marketing to craft compelling appeals.
