Job summary

The Lussier Community Education Center (LCEC) in Madison, WI seeks a Director of Development to lead fund development, grant writing, and communications in support of a near $2M operating budget.

As a member of the Leadership Team, you will design and implement fundraising strategies, cultivate relationships with donors, and guide marketing efforts to tell the LCEC story. Full-time, on-site in Madison.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in non-profit fundraising including donor relations, grant writing and reporting.
• Proficiency with MailChimp and Bloomerang or similar donor databases.
• Experience with annual campaigns and digital/print communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and evaluate the LCEC Fund Development Plan with the Executive Director and lead its execution.
• Monitor and communicate progress towards the annual fundraising goal to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
• Develop and maintain systems to support the fund development plan, including calendars and deadlines.
• Manage and grow individual donor support through relationship building and meetings.
• Maintain and expand donor base including local businesses, service groups, and schools.
• Grow major/recurring donors in collaboration with the Executive Director.
• Maintain donor database and communications platforms; process donations and issue receipts.
• Organize donor events (Harvest, Friends of Lussier breakfasts) to raise resources.
• Explore opportunities for planned giving, stock/estate, and other revenue sources.
• Write grant proposals and ensure timely reporting to funders.
• Lead collaborative grant proposals with partner organizations.
• Coordinate with staff to align programs with grant opportunities.
