Job summary

BlueSteps Connect seeks a Director to cultivate relationships and increase financial commitments from existing supporters in the $1,800–$25,000 donor range, while also engaging new community members to become significant contributors. The Director will lead efforts to grow a grassroots movement focused on advocacy and voting.

The role supports fundraising and community engagement and is expected to report to a Northeast Director and be supported by state and national offices.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in sales, client relations, fundraising, or a similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Increase community engagement and grow revenue through solicitations, donor cultivation, and stewardship.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with existing donors and identify new donors to solicit.
  • Meet quarterly and annual fundraising goals.
  • Identify, recruit, and develop lay leadership for leadership roles.
  • Provide regular updates to encourage greater involvement in policy and advocacy work.
  • Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM by logging communications and meetings.
  • Represent the organization at community events and forums.

Job description

The client seeks a Director to cultivate relationships and increase financial commitments from existing supporters in the $1,800–$25,000 donor range, while also engaging new community members to become significant contributors. The Director will lead efforts to grow a grassroots movement focused on advocacy and voting. The role supports fundraising and community engagement and is expected to report to a Northeast Director and be supported by state and national offices.

Key responsibilities include creating and executing a plan to increase community engagement and grow revenue through solicitations, donor cultivation, and stewardship; building and sustaining strong relationships with donors; identifying, cultivating, and soliciting new donors; and meeting quarterly and annual fundraising goals. The Director will also identify, recruit, and develop lay leadership for leadership roles, provide regular updates that encourage greater involvement in policy and advocacy work, maintain accurate donor moves management records in the client’s CRM by logging communications and meetings, and represent the client at community events and forums.

Candidates should have a proven track record in sales, client relations, fundraising, or a similar field, with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in sales/fundraising or a related area. The role requires the ability to pivot quickly to address rapidly changing situations, initiative and sustained relationship-building, and strong problem-solving with an analytical mindset to visualize and articulate solutions. Additional expectations include prioritization and independent execution in a fast-paced environment, teamwork skills, strong written and verbal communication, ties to the Jewish community and schools, and a commitment to Jewish education and advocacy; a bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent experience may be considered.
