Job summary

The American Heart Association in Jackson, MS is seeking a Development Coordinator to support data and administrative tasks for core fundraising events. You will manage database entries and assist with event-related data to ensure accurate reporting and successful fundraising efforts.

This hybrid, temporary role ends on 2027-06-30, offering opportunities for training through Heart U and various employee resources. You will collaborate with a team of fundraisers under the Regional Senior Director.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3 years of administrative and database management and/or nonprofit experience.
  • Excellent computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and balance multiple tasks while managing territories.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work outside standard hours, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% periodically during spring.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy and adherence to latest data entry standards in our applications (Luminate/TeamRaiser, Greater Giving, GiveSmart, Tableau).
  • Assist Fundraising Partners by finalizing closed opportunities and sharing data quality issues in Salesforce.
  • Assist Fundraising Partners on reports using application system reports.
  • Provide customer service requests (software corrections, database receipting, pulling constituent records).
  • Troubleshooting with external customers.
  • Periodic travel within designated markets with some evenings and weekends.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Development Coordinator in Jackson, MS. The coordinator will focus on the data and administrative support for core fundraising events, including all database management. Duties include proper entry of and all data to support the events.

This is a hybrid position. This position is temporary with an end date of 6/30/2027.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure accuracy and adherence to the latest data entry standards in our point applications (Luminate/TeamRaiser, Greater Giving, GiveSmart, Tableau). This includes FMV, completion of data points, mobile cause, online bidding services, and event guest lists.
  • Assist Fundraising Partners by finalizing closed opportunities and sharing data quality issues in Salesforce.
  • Assist Fundraising Partners on any reports needed using the application system reports.
  • Provide customer service requests (i.e., software corrections, database receipting, pulling constituent records)
  • Troubleshooting with external customers
  • Periodic traveling within the designated markets with some evenings and weekends.

In this role, you will report to the Regional Senior Director and will work with a team of fundraisers to manage the databases of the Jackson markets.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED, Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) preferred.
  • 3 years of prior administrative and database management and/or non-profit experience or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).
  • Capacity to work independently, prioritize, and balance multiple tasks while managing multiple territories simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail, verbal and nonverbal communication, and highly effective organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work outside of standard hours, which may involve some evenings and/or weekends.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% periodically throughout the assigned geographical territory during the spring.
