Job summary

The Development Coordinator at IDEA (Islamic Development & Empowerment in America) will build and maintain relationships with donors, masajid, businesses, and community groups across the Detroit area to advance IDEA’s Fund Development goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with donors, masajid, businesses, community institutions, volunteers, and the general public throughout the assigned area.
• Strengthen relationships with existing masajid and identify opportunities to establish relationships with new masajid and communities.
• Conduct outreach visits and represent IDEA at community events and program engagements as assigned.
• Plan, organize, host, and support regional fundraising activities and events in coordination with the Regional Manager, Event Coordinator, other appropriate staff, and volunteers.
• Respond to donor and community inquiries with accurate and timely information about IDEA’s campaigns, programs, and opportunities for engagement.
• Schedules and delivers presentations to audiences of diverse backgrounds.
• Prepares and submits plans, projections, and reports to the Regional Community Fund Development Manager.
• Researches local communities, prospects, and emerging opportunities to support regional fundraising and development strategies.
• Continue to strengthen job-related knowledge and skills through required training, workshops, readings, and professional-development opportunities.
