Job summary

Chambliss Center for Children in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Development Coordinator to support fundraising events, donor engagement, grant development, and community partnerships. This role blends relationship building with organized event planning to advance opportunities for children, youth, and families.

You will coordinate events from planning through execution, research grants, manage donor records, and represent Chambliss at community gatherings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, public relations, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, marketing, communications, or event planning preferred.
  • Grant writing and/or grant research experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating fundraising events from planning through execution
  • Research grant opportunities and assist with grant writing and reporting
  • Maintain grant calendars, deadlines, and support documentation
  • Serve as a point of contact for third-party fundraising partners
  • Manage and grow the monthly giving program
  • Prepare donor acknowledgments, impact reports, and donor communications
  • Maintain accurate donor and gift records in the donor database
  • Represent Chambliss Center at community events, networking opportunities, and tours
  • Build positive relationships with donors, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners

  • Early childhood education and childcare programs for infants through school-age children
  • Foster care placement and support services in partnership with the State of Tennessee
  • Adoption services that help children find safe, permanent homes
  • A Transitional Living Program that provides housing, life skills training, and support for young adults aging out of foster care
  • Innovative "micro-centers" located within Hamilton County schools that provide convenient, high-quality onsite childcare for teachers and school employees

What You\'ll Do

What We\'re Looking For

We\'re seeking a mission-driven professional who combines strong organizational skills with a passion for relationship building.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, public relations, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, donor relations, marketing, communications, or event planning
  • Grant writing and/or grant research experience preferred
  • Experience coordinating projects with multiple deadlines and stakeholders
  • Experience using donor databases (CRM systems) and fundraising software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
