Job Description
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of special synthetic projects.
  • Ensure projects meet all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Drive the development of new synthetic methods and processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Perform preliminary and in‑process analytical work on reactions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and explore new research opportunities.
  • Identify and evaluate potential new project opportunities.
  • Analyze facts and make observations during reactions and apply this information to resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Ensure all laboratory activities comply with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field required; focus in synthetic chemistry preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical principles and reaction mechanisms.
  • Comfort and familiarity with handling air‑sensitive and pyrophoric materials (e.g., using Schlenk lines and glove boxes).
  • Knowledge of modern analytical techniques (NMR, GC, MS, HPLC, UV, IR, TGA, DSC) and instrumentation for the isolation and identification of silane or metal‑organic compounds.
  • Experience with laboratory techniques, analytical instruments, and statistical analysis.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment.
  • Must be able to work in a chemical processing environment, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, or other necessary gear.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; occasional travel for conferences, meetings, and collaborative projects may be required.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $140,000.
