Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Donor Relations: Create ThankView emails, assist with video editing, and track engagement metrics.
  • Donor Relations: Support CEO and CAO donor correspondence and letters.
  • Donor Relations: Prepare Sponsorship Impact Reports by organizing recipient lists and gathering statistics/photos.
  • Donor Relations: Organize receipt lists and submit bulk uploads for donor stewardship and recognition communications.
  • Donor Relations: Maintain fundraiser toolkits and related materials.
  • Donor Relations: Pull event campaign reports for Relationship Managers.
  • Donor Relations: Share event attendee lists for timely post-event follow-up.
  • Special Events: Support sponsorship outreach and deliverables for Women Fighting Hunger (WFH).
  • Special Events: Conduct guest list outreach and assist with event registration for WFH.
  • Special Events: Follow up with Day of Giving volunteers and confirm participation.
  • Special Events: Assist with event planning and logistics, RSVP tracking, and Salesforce updates.
  • Special Events: Maintain event timelines, staffing plans, and materials.
  • Special Events: Assist with planning meetings and day-of-event activities.

Job description

Our client, a nonprofit organization focused on fighting hunger and strengthening the community, is seeking a Development Associate, Special Events & Donor Relations to support its Special Events and Donor Relations teams. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent.

The Development Associate will help maintain continuity across donor engagement, stewardship, fundraising activities, and special events while supporting a high-quality experience for donors, volunteers, and advocates.

  • Coordinate event materials, including signage, gifts, awards, and other supplies.
  • Provide administrative support with vendors, external partners, contracts, quotes, invoices, and permitting.
  • Maintain vendor and event‑related records and files.
  • Assist with post‑event surveys, attendance reporting, and follow‑up activities.
  • Support volunteer coordination and engagement for signature special events.
  • Provide general administrative and logistical support to the Special Events and Donor Relations teams as needed.
Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of fundraising and/or special events experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with CRM databases; Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with Classy or GoFundMe Pro preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and varied responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to gather, organize, and communicate information across multiple teams.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Strong digital skills and ability to effectively use a range of digital technologies.
  • Ability to write clearly and persuasively.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors and volunteers.
  • Genuine appreciation for the organization's mission and the ability to communicate that mission authentically.
