Job summary

Jewish Non Profit Organization in New York is seeking a Development Associate to support donor engagement, event execution, and administrative tasks for the fundraising team. Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of experience in nonprofit administration, events, fundraising, or a related field; internship experience considered.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
  • Comfortable engaging with high-net-worth individuals and donors in professional settings.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace; proficiency with CRM and AI tools, specifically Claude, required.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events.
  • Based in New York; travel a few times per month for donor events and meetings.
  • Comfort representing the organization alongside HNW donors and community leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Donor & post-event follow-up: thank-you messages, feedback, and next-step engagement.
  • Event planning & logistics: plan donor/cultivation events, coordinate hosts/venues, and manage calendars.
  • Day-of-event support: setup/breakdown, attendee sign-in, and on-site logistics.
  • Administrative support to the National Director: calendar management, notes, and action tracking.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and itineraries for the National Director, including flights and lodging.

Position Summary

Our team is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Development Associate to join our New York-based fundraising team. This role provides critical event and administrative support that keeps our donor engagement and cultivation efforts running smoothly. From planning and executing donor events to supporting the National Director's outreach to high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) and foundations. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who is highly organized, personable, and energized by relationship-building and nonprofit.

Key Responsibilities
Donor & Post-Event Follow-Up
  • Conduct timely post-event follow-up with donors, including thank-you communications, feedback outreach, and next-step engagement.
  • Track donor touchpoints and follow-up commitments to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
Event Planning & Logistics
  • Support end-to-end planning for donor and cultivation events, including identifying potential hosts and venues (with guidance from senior development team) and confirming event dates.
  • Create and distribute event fliers, invitations, and related promotional material for Israel Friends fundraisers and meetings (in partnership with the Marketing Team)
  • Maintain an events calendar and coordinate logistics with hosts, vendors, and fundraising team.
  • Identify and coordinate event speakers, including booking and briefing/training them ahead of each event.
Day-of-Event Support
  • Manage day-of event setup and breakdown, and ensure all necessary materials are packed, transported, and on-site.
  • Prepare and manage attendee sign-up sheets and check-in process.
Administrative Support to the National Director
  • Provide general administrative support to the National Director focused on donor outreach and cultivation.
  • Schedule follow-up meetings and manage the National Director's calendar.
  • Take and distribute meeting notes and track resulting action items.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and itineraries for the National Director, including flights, lodging, and ground transportation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1–4 years of experience in nonprofit administration, events, fundraising, or a related field; internship experience considered.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional, polished demeanor.
  • Comfortable and confident engaging with high-net-worth individuals and donors in professional settings.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace preferred; proficiency with CRM and AI tools, specifically Claude, required
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events.
  • Based in New York; must be willing to travel a few times per month for donor events and meetings.
  • Must be comfortable representing the organization in professional settings alongside HNW donors and community leaders.
