A leading cultural institution seeks a Development Assistant to support its Development team. Opening April 5, 2019, where the High Line meets Hudson Yards on Manhattan's west side, The Shed commissions original works of art, across all disciplines, for all audiences. The Development Assistant will help with advancing the work of our growing Development team and assisting with a wide range of administrative duties while maintaining integrity, donor trust, confidentiality, and tact at all times. This position works closely with the Chief Development Officer to manage the work of the department. The Assistant must be a collaborative and energetic individual who embraces the ambition and the mission of The Shed and have the ability to multitask while maintaining a strong sense of strategic priorities as the team works together to launch this new cultural institution.
The ideal candidate has research experience and can contribute to our progressive, creative, innovative, and inclusive organization and office environment. Demonstrated experience characterized by sound decision-making, good humor, flexibility, excellent organizational skills, sustained initiative and the ability to handle multiple priorities is crucial.
