Job summary

NVIDIA in Santa Clara, CA seeks a senior researcher to advance 6G and AI‑native RAN technologies, leading simulations, algorithms, and publications.

You will collaborate with NV Research, engineering, and solution architects to push innovation and align with NVIDIA’s standards of excellence, contributing to industry bodies and papers.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in CS/Engineering/Applied Mathematics or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of hands-on deep research in RAN architecture and algorithm design.
  • Hands-on experience defining and coding AI/ML and LLM algorithms in RAN with peer‑reviewed papers.
  • Good knowledge of hardware choices for the RAN stack and a vision to evolve the industry.
  • Deep understanding of AI and GenAI as applied to wireless networks.
  • Strong skills representing the organization at industry bodies and publishing papers.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and deliver results.

Responsibilities

  • Establish trusted partner relationships with researchers in network vendors, academia and startups.
  • Be the subject matter expert on key 6G topics and engage researchers working on them.
  • Conduct simulation studies, develop algorithms and benchmark results.
  • File IP and write papers for publication in reputed journals.
  • Follow 3GPP and AI‑RAN proceedings, develop contributions, and drive partnerships.
  • Collaborate with NV Research, engineering and solution architects to drive tasks.
  • Analyze challenges in AI-native RAN and implement solutions to meet project objectives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends to drive innovation and meet NVIDIA standards.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Establish trusted partner relationships with top 6G and AI‑RAN researchers in network vendors, academia and startups.
  • Be the subject matter expert on key 6G topics, identifying and engaging researchers who are working on these topics.
  • Conduct simulation studies, develop algorithms and benchmark the results.
  • File intellectual property and write papers for publication in reputed journals.
  • Follow and attend 3GPP and AI‑RAN alliance proceedings, develop contributions, drive ecosystem of partnerships at these bodies.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including NV Research, engineering, and solution architects, to drive tasks aligned with our mission.
  • Analyze sophisticated challenges in the realization of AI‑native RAN, develop strategies, and implement solutions to achieve project objectives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and new technologies to drive innovation and ensure project deliverables meet or exceed quality benchmarks that align with NVIDIA’s standards of excellence.
What We Need To See
  • Master’s, or PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in hands‑on deep research in Radio Access Network (RAN) architecture and algorithm design at reputed research organizations and universities.
  • Hands‑on experience in defining and coding AI/ML and LLM algorithms in RAN with peer‑reviewed published papers.
  • Good knowledge of hardware choices for the RAN stack and a vision to evolve the industry to accelerated computing.
  • Deep understanding of AI and GenAI as applied to wireless networks is a must.
  • Strong skills in representing the organization at industry bodies and submitting papers.
  • Proven ability to work in a multifaceted, fast‑paced entrepreneurial environment and deliver results.
Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd
  • A hands‑on researcher and innovator in 6G and AI‑native RAN.
  • Understanding of CUDA, TensorFlow, GPU architecture is a strong plus.
  • Published IEEE research papers and/or 3GPP contributions.
  • Outstanding communication skills and a passion for groundbreaking transformations in telecom.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 184,000 USD – 287,500 USD for Level 4, and 224,000 USD – 356,500 USD for Level 5.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
